Dr.h.c. mult. prof. Ing. Jozef Živčák, PhD. MPH - Honorary member of the Swiss-Slovak Chamber of Commerce

Dr.h.c. mult. prof. Ing. Jozef Živčák, PhD. MPH, is a professor of biomedical engineering and Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Košice. His research interests include human biomechanics, biomaterials, and processes of additive manufacturing of implants. In 2022, he received an award for linking technical education and science popularization, design and implementation of innovative formats of popularization events, and creation of the concept and design of exhibits for the Expo 2020 Dubai. He has worked on dozens of grant projects, which have resulted in practical applications and implementations for further scientific activities and practice. Among the most significant are customized implants, which have been and continue to be the subject of both research activities, and state-of-the-art laboratories for measurement and additive manufacturing technologies. The results of his scientific activities have been published in renowned journals, monographs, in university textbooks, and presented at national and international congresses. He is a member of several editorial and scientific boards in Slovakia and abroad. He has been awarded several other awards for his research results and their implementation in practice, such as the Samuel Mikovini Grand Medal 2013, National Quality Award 2015, Leader of the Top Team in Research 18, Science and Technology Award 2017 in the ´Lifetime Achievement in Science and Technology´ category.
